custom vendor URL

Hi,

I am looking to change the URL of the vendor to include the username (rather than the ID number)

so instead of:
mysite.com/component/hikamarket/vendor/show/cid-5
it looks something like:
mysite.com/component/hikamarket/vendor/show/username

it would also be great if it could be shortened to something like mysite.com/username

then store owners could have their own 'personalised' storefront.

Is this easily accomplished?

thanks

Hi,

HikaShop 2.3.0 have an option to remove the id from the product and category urls.
This feature had some side effect at the beginning but the support team have finally fix all of them.

I think we will use the same feature for the vendor pages, to display the vendor name in the url and give you the possibility to remove the vendor id.
It requires some modification in the HikaMarket router and in several views.

Hi Jerome,

I recently upgraded to Hikamarket 1.41 and noticed there was an option for vendor default menu in configuration/market/display - I understand it allows nicer URL for vendor?

can you explain how it works, or direct me to any documentation if it exists?

kind regards

Hi,

When you use the "vendor default menu", the links generated for the "Sold by" will use the menu.
So, you can create a vendor listing menu and use it in your configuration.
At this moment, all the links for the "sold by" will use the menu and you will have nicer url like : "/vendors/vendor-name"

thanks,

does this include clicking the vendor "sold by" link on a module?

I could add the menu in the module config but I have already used this to associate the product with certain pages in most cases?

as currently it is still displaying the longer URL /component/hikamarket/vendor/show/vendorname

Hi,

On a module ?
The option set the menu for every "sold by" links, it is related to HikaMarket, not to HikaShop or a module configuration.
If you do not have a nice SEF, it means that you are not using a "vendor listing" menu in the HikaMarket configuration.

Does Hike have a feature to enable a vendor to create their own storefront page in a multi-vendor e-commerce website?

Hello,

HikaMarket do not provide that feature since it focuses on the e-commerce part (management of products and orders) but other Joomla component allow to achieve it. For example there is JMS multisites which allow to create multiple websites (one per vendor) and each vendor has control on its website.
