Categories assigned to vendor

To keep things clean, we want to predetermine what categories a vendor can use so we can link to those categories int he main menu.

ie we do not want to let the vendor choose the categories but pick them from a predetermined list.

When I log on as a vendor i cannot see the categories that have been set up so I am unable to select them. Is this possible?

Hi,

A vendor have a "home" category which will be the "root" when he need to select a category.
By setting a "home" category, the vendor will not have access to every categories in your shop.
Afterwards, it is possible to give them "extra categories" where they will be able to put products into but they won't have any edition or display access on these categories.

Vendors will just have the right to edit their own categories . But you can simply remove the Accesses on the "category/edit" so they won't have such feature.
