I have a multi language e-shop and i'm using Falang to make the translations, but when i'm trying to translate a Hikashop category item from the frontend the translation appears the same in both languages... Is this a bug? what am' i doing wrong?

**************

the above message is partially wrong. The right one is like this: when i'm trying to translate a Hikashop category item from the frontend the translation appears only in the original language independently on the language i use to make the translation ... i.e. i'm translating from Greek to English. When i'm on the Greek version and change the name of a category in the frontend the change appear in the Greek Version. When i'm on the English version and changing the name of a category in the frontend then the change ONLY appears in the Greek version and not in the English one. So i'm wondering if this has something to do with the falang translator or the Hikashop...

Hi,

When HikaMarket load the category information, Falang modify the SQL request in order to load the translations.
I made several tests and I am working on a patch in order to load the data from the database without the falang modifications.
At this moment, it will be possible to get the raw data and edit correctly the category (like the products).

When you say edit, do you mean translate?
Do you believe joomfish would be more helpful
Can you inform me when something is ready in this post. Thanks!

Hi,

I finished the modification during the night.
Problem is that, it is not a little patch, it impact several files and it adds a new view file.
So, the feature (possibility the translate categories) and the fix (display the raw title for categories and products during edition) will be include in the next release.

It does translate but in my case while I m in the english language on the frontend and I translate a category, the translation is made in the greek language. Is it my fault?

Hi,

You hadn't activated the "Activate the edition of content in multiple languages" option of the configuration of HikaShop so you didn't had any translation interface on your store.
I've done it for you and I can now translate the products on the frontend and backend.

Menus can be translated via Falang/JoomFish's backend interface. It's not related to HikaShop.

Hi,

One part is Joomla specific and for the HikaShop part, it's stored in the hikashop configuration table.
But you don't want to do something with the HikaShop part because it just store the HikaShop options for the menu.
All fields which can have a link with some "translations" are in the Joomla menu table and it's Joomla specific.
