Hi,

When a vendor is created, a vendor category is being created as well (jn my case)
Is it possible, that whenever I upload products, i can put the ID or name of the vendor category in the uploadsheet?
So the products will be assigned to the vendor category?

I know that there is an option to include the vendor ID, but cannot find the column to assign the vendor category (ID or name).

Thanks in advance.
regards,
Joyce

Hello,

To create a vendor category, just import a category with the namekey "vendor_XX" where XX is the ID of the vendor.
Please note that category namekey is unique. So you can't have two categories with the same key.

Hi jerome,

Sorry to get back so late on this topic.

What you describe is not working for me. The vendor has multiple ID's, which one do I use? The ID of Hikamarket or the ID of the vendor category?

Do I need to put the vendor_XX (for example vendor_199) in the "parent category" column or in the "categories" column of the upload sheet? If I put it in the "categories" column, the system is creating a new product category but I want it to flow in the "Vendor category"

Kind regards,
Joyce

Hello,

To create a vendor category, just import a category with the namekey "vendor_XX" where XX is the ID of the vendor.

I don't know what you're calling the "ID of HikaMarket" ; but there is just one single kind of vendor and a vendor cannot have multiple ID. One vendor have one ID and that ID is unique.

Hello Jerome,

I have attached more detail about what I call "Hikamarket ID" versus "vendor category ID"
Hikamarket ID is (for me) the ID the vendor gets assigned when he/she registeres in my store.
Vendor categegory ID is the ID he/she gets assigned when a vendor category is automatically created in Hikashop (I have this configured).

Which one do I use??

Furthermore I have attached a part of the uploadsheet. When I put the information like I did here, the upload information is not flowing into the Vendor category, but the system is creating a new category under "product category". But I don't want it to flow there, I want it to flow in the already existing Vendor category. Could you see what I do wrong?

Hopefully I am more clear now and you are able to help me.

Kind regards,
Joyce

Hi Jerome,

Ok now I know which vendor ID to use, but can you also tell me how to put it in the uploadsheet?
I just cannot figure it out, so sorry.

Thanks!

Hello,

but can you also tell me how to put it in the uploadsheet?

It's:

To create a vendor category, just import a category with the namekey "vendor_XX" where XX is the ID of the vendor.

Hi Jerome,

Yes, you told me this 3 times, but as I tried to explain before: this method is not working for me.
Cleary wel do not understand each other on this topic.
Let's close the issue.

Kind regards,
Joyce

Hello,

The categories have a category_namekey field, right ?

The screenshots you gave do not explain what you're trying to import and I can't even tell you what is wrong with your content.
For sure what you have entered for the two highlighted cells is not correct since it's not what I told you to do.
I think you should start to have a working CSV to import categories and then you will be able to apply the modification that I'm telling you to do since my very first message.

To create a vendor category, just import a category with the namekey "vendor_XX" where XX is the ID of the vendor.
Please note that category namekey is unique. So you can't have two categories with the same key.

Afterwards, if you have issues with the import of categories in HikaShop ; please open a thread in the HikaShop section of the forum.
For what's related to HikaMarket and how a category is considered as a "vendor categories" ; it's what I told you.
