Hi,
I would like to have the products that are shown in a vendor product listing to be shown in categories and not just is a long list of products.
This because some vendor's have a lot of products and it's not a pretty sight to show such a long list.

I don't mean to group the products by category.

Any tips are really welcome.

Nico

Hi,

I don't understand what you mean.
Until your sentence "I don't mean to group the products by category.", I thought that it was exactly what you were saying.
So now I don't know.
Please provide some more precise information on what you want where and how.

I mean that I would like to show products like you normally see in a webshop.

So for example a vendor has products that are in different categories (bread, meat, drinks).

Now when I show the products under a vendor it shows only the products in a long list, not showing the categories that the products are in.
This makes the list very long and for customers a bit hard to find the right product.

So I would like to see it more like :
bread
- buns
- baguettes
meat
- sausages
- mince

etc.

Hope this makes more sense :-)

Hi,

So do you mean that you actually want a categories listing ? And then the customer click on a category and see the products of that vendor in that category ?
Or something else ?

Hi Nicolas,

Yes, that's it.
If the products are not sorted in categories then the customers are not going to be happy seeing soo much products in 1 long list.

Hi,

Then why not use the "group by cateogry" option which will group the products by category there ?
Because, besides that, I don't see any other alternative. Category listings are not supposed to be displayed on the vendor page. The vendor page only supports a products listing (which can be grouped by category but that's about it).
If you want anything else, it will require development.

Hi Nicolas,

Too bad that it's not supported. And I'm also a bit surprised to be honest that it's not possible because it seems such a useful option.

So we will be checking out a custom job then.

Thanks for checking.

Hi, just to give an update, we solved this by creating some new categories for the vendors, linked them to a menu and linked modules to those menu's. Not the pretties solutions but it works. :)
