Hello,

Yes ; the demo website do not have any kind of write permission.
So that's clearly not the single message that you can find in the website for the image generation.

If I show demo site to my customers with errors messages - it is not good.
I understand that demo site don't have write permissions, but you can generate images and after that change permissions to read only...
This is not good that demo site have any errors messages - customers don't clear understand why they appears and change their minds about your extension...

That is my humble opinion and you can do what you want.
