Hello!
I'm new on hikashop, just installed it and it runs perfectly.

My problem is this:
I have a few products and on one of them i want to offer free shipping all over Europe and US but with the option to choose if it's registered air mail in case some one wants tracking number, with an added cost off course. So two options one free and one with some added cost.

If someone adds a few more products on the cart which do not have free shipping i want them to pay for shipping but only for the non-free shipping products.

Is this possible? Any ideas on how to do that?

Hi,

Yes it's possible.
You will need to create several shipping methods and use the volume restrictions in order to display the free shipping/air mail methods only for products with dimensions and without weight. The other shipping methods would have restrictions on a minimum weight so that they only display when at least a product with a weight is in the cart.
Then the shipping methods will be filtered during the checkout based on the restrictions and you will be able to have what you want.

Hey again!
Thank you very much it works this way.

Can i add the option depending on the weight of the products to increase the shipping price? I mean on the rest of the products without free shipping.
Someone might add more than one product from the ones without free shipping. The weight will increase.

Yes. You need to create one additional manual shipping method for each weight range you want to handle for that.

Got it! So for example if i have simple air mail i have to create additional shipping methods and if i have registered mail i have to create similar additions by weight.

Here it is, i was trying to create the same shipping weights just as a registered mail.
Hope it shows now.
I have edited the last options to match the first ones on the international package.

Hmmmm never mind. For some strange reason it now works, but i haven't figured out why.
Maybe there was a mistake i made (which is most likely since i'm a noob on hikashop), have no clue.

Nicolas, great information on free product shipping.

I was wondering if there's a way of NOT showing that option on the list of shipping methods?

If we offer FREE Case shipping but individual items, which have a coupon, require shipping costs, there's nothing to prevent them from selecting the FREE shipping.

It depends on how you configure your shipping method.

For example, you could set a specific volume in your product and in your free shipping method set a minimum volume and a maximum volume so that only that product would be able to trigger the display of that shipping method.
You will need to create several shipping methods if you want to handle more than one case per order.

Would you consider adding a field on the manual shipping for "DISPLAY TO CUSTOMER?" If not on, the rule applies but does NOT show to the end user.

Actually, I have discovered that this modules works the way I want without any modifications. If you plan on changing this mod, please let me know -- here's how it works:

Unpublished entry is read by system for the discount. All other shipping methods in UPS work the way required.
