-- url of the page with the problem -- : therefurbishedhome.com/index.php/hikasho...r-categories-listing
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.3
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : None

Can I have different thumbnail styling for categories than for products?
I am trying to have a page of categories that are just two columns wide and have the thumbnail images use the entire page width. (See url)
Thanks

Bob

Hello Bob,
Note that you can control the displaying of your category listing by using the options of your category listing content menu/module configuration page.

I'm sorry. I don't know what this is: "category listing content menu/module configuration page". I'm sure it is me but can you show me where this page is?

Regards

Bob

Hi,

HikaShop > Display > Content menu (or "Content module").

Thank you for the tip. It helped. But I still can't get the image right. I got the page to display two columns and the border looks the correct width but the image is still just a thumbnail. I am trying to have two category images that each take up half the available page.

Hi,

As Jerome and Mohamed said you can edit your menu via the menu Display>Content menus in order to configure its display. There you'll find a image width and an image height settings where you can enter the size you want for the images on the listing.

And as I have said; it isn't working.
I went to "Display/Content Menus/Product Listing(Alias: hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing - ID 158) .
I entered 300px width in the image div box. The div and border expand to the 300px but the image is still a thumbnail even though I uploaded an image that is 300 px wide. I need the image to be displayed at 300px width.

I still see thumbnails of 100px*100px on your category listing page and no div expanding to 300 px.
How about you also specify the height you want for the images ?
Could you provide a screenshot of the options of your menu so that we can see what you did ?

I did try imputing width and height and also leaving height blank (I read somewhere that if I left one dimension blank, Hikashop would keep the proportions correct) I also tried adjusting pain height but it does not effect this page. As you can see on this page : therefurbishedhome.com/index.php/hikasho...r-categories-listing , the categories are spaced correctly and centered. If you select "Back to Products on the left side menu, that module has not been changed at all. You can see that my settings are making some difference but the images are still the 100 X100 thumbs.

Please see attached screen shots for module settings

Thanks for your patience and help.

Hi,

Mmm, I don't see why it would do that. Maybe you have some caching on your website ? Try to clear the cache of your website and that would help if that's the case.

I don't think it is a caching issue. I have viewed the site on multiple browsers and multiple machines over the course of almost a week. The page doesn't change.

Hi,

The cache is not related to the browser, it related to Joomla itself.
So if the page does not change, I really recommend you to check the cache like Nicolas told you.

Caching on the site is turned off. It always has been. The page refreshes just fine. If I change the number of columns in details, the page reflects those changes. However ANY changes I make to 'Parameters for DIV' are not reflected on this page.

Hi,

I don't see how that could be possible.

Could you provide a backend access to your website with a link to this thread via our contact form so that we can have a look at your settings ?

Hi,

I checked the options of your menu (id 158) via the menu Display>content menus on your website and no height/width was specified for the categories listing. It was only specified for the associated products listing module.
I've changed that for you and it works fine as you can see.

Thank you Nicolas.

I always knew it would be some stupid thing I was missing. I was editing the wrong DIV. Too bad we missed it back when you asked for screen prints of my menu (id158) settings.

Thanks again.

Bob
