-- Joomla version -- : 3.4.5

Hi there, we have a question.

It is our attention that HikaShop automatically makes his canonical url. In this way HikaShop makes double url's and this does not always work. What is the best settings for the canonical?

We use HikaShop Business: 2.6.0 and Joomla 3.4.5

Hi,

There is not really best settings for the mass actions, it depends on your needs.
If the urls are not filled on the product pages, you can use the value "Use canonical URL, generate it if missing" and browse your products on frontend from the desired menu to have the canonical url set with this menu entry.

Else if you set them manually you can simple use the option "Use canonical URL if specified".
In the next release we will add an action to set the canonical urls from the mass actions.

Hi Xavier,

Thank you for the reply :)

But when we set the value on "Use canonical URL if specified", Hikashop also automatically makes his canonical url

We'll wait for the new version.

With kind regards...

Hi,

HikaShop doesn't automatically fill canonical URLs unless you set the "force canonical URLs on listings" to "Use canonical URL, generate it if missing".
So far we are not able to reproduce such problem with the latest version.
Please provide a procedure to reproduce that and we can have a look at it.

I am also having the same issue.

With the configuration setting to "Use Canonical if specified", hikashop will generate a canonical url to the products, when I will try to load the product from the front-end.

My setup includes falang and multilingual settings enabled in hikashop - if that does matter.

Hi,

We cannot reproduce the problem with just HikaShop.
And neither with the version of Falang we have on hand (an old one).
So maybe it comes from a recent version of Falang ? Or maybe another extension ?
What if you deactivate Falang ? Do you still have the problem ?

Hi,

Well, I have HikaMarket on my test website on my end and didn't had the problem when editing the product from the backend or displaying the product on the front end.
So I don't think that HikaMarket is linked to that.
