-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : The cart is empty

Dear : sir
i fina err on hukashop. when online website.

I can't use Cart Shopping
1) When i use in localhost ( offline ) the cart system can work complete
2) but When i put website to hosting (online) cart system is not work system show Message '' The cart is empty ''
When Choose product Click > Add to cart > system show '' Message The cart is empty

i try to find my problum on goole and any where but i can't find.
can look my website is www.superlocks.co.th

Hi,

If your site's code and configuration is identical on localhost and hosted server but the cart doesn't work on-line, it's most likely due to caching. Make sure that there is no cache active on the hosted server, not in Joomla but also not on the server itself.

Hi,

It could also come from the user session system of your web server. You can try changing the "session handler" setting of the Joomla configuration.

Well, you see in your screenshot that right now under "Cache Settings" your Joomla cache is "on".
So, change it to "off", save and close.
Then clear the cache: in the Joomla backend, go to -> System -> Clear Cache, check all boxes there and click the "Delete" button in the upper left.
Reload your frontend pages and see if you can add products to the cart.

If still not:
As said before, also make sure that the server does not use any cache. (Some hosting providers have a server cache active by default. If so, turn it off and clear it as well. Eventually ask your hosting provider.)

If still not:
Try following Nicolas' advice regarding session handler.

Does it mean that Hikashop cannot work normally, when cache is enable?
Our customers complained from time to time about problems during checkout process, so we disabled cache entirely.

Hi,

Caching is a vast subject.
If you cache whole pages, when you add something to the cart, the cache has to be cleared, otherwise, you won't see the changes on the page.
HikaShop (and other ecommerce solutions for Joomla work in the same way when they support caching), is rendered compatible with the page caching of Joomla by clearing the cache each time something changes on the page.
If your website is a shop, everyone has something different in their cart and thus the pages will be different for everyone. In that case, there is actually no reason to have caching on your website since the cache is common to everyone and will be erased all the time. It's even more efficient to keep it turned off.
Also, if you have other kind of caching, modules, JS, CSS, third party extensions, HikaShop might not support them based on how they are done and configured. So you might get issues during the checkout or other parts of the website.

What I can say is that we have other merchants using HikaShop and the joomla cache at the same time on their website and it works fine for them. But we also had other merchants with caching or user session (that's a different subject, but the resulting problems can sometimes look similar) issues, which is why we recommend to change these options and and see if that helps.

Hi,

Well, I've checked your settings and tried a few things, but there is nothing wrong in the website.
And it's to be expected since, as you said it yourself, it's working on your local computer.
So I can only think of something on the server side.
What if you tried switching to a different hosting maybe ?
