Hi,

If I install now Falang, will it be possible to update later to Joomfish 2.5?

Best Regards

The database is different between Falang and joomfish so you can't just "udpate". You would have to also migrate the data from the falang tables to joomfish tables. It's not impossible if you know mysql.

I already have a multilanguage Hikashop with joomfish in Joomla 1.5

What I have to do now, if I want my data in the new Joomla 2.5 Hikashop with Falang?
You recommand to use Falang, or is it better to wait for Joomfish 2.5?

Best Regards

We don't have a script in order to migrate translations.
However, Falang propose their services for custom projects so you could probably ask them to do the migration for you:

Honestly, it's been more than a year that Joomfish say that they are working on a new version for joomla 1.7 then 2.5. So far, it's still not available. Plus, staying on Joomfish doesn't mean that you won't have any data migration to do to the new version as it is apparently a complete revamp.
If you are not afraid to have to wait for half a year, you can wait for joomfish. Otherwise, I would go with falang.
