-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.14

This is another missing feature that should be handled with a checkbox. I want the cart off on ALL checkout pages. I read a FAQ which "explains" how to do it without actually telling you - the explanation makes zero sense. Assign the cart to a menu which displays when in checkout. OK, so how to assign the menu to only checkout pages?

Has anyone figured out how to achieve this simple thing or could explain the explanation HS gives?

It's quite simple actually.
In the configuration of HikaShop, you have the option "force menu on checkout" where you can select the current menu item that you want on the checkout.
Then, in the joomla options of your modules, you can use the standard "menu assignment" tab to select on which menu items to see/hide the modules. So simply untick the menu item that you selected for your checkout there and you'll be set.

This makes absolutely no sense at all. I've spent well over an hour trying to follow your instructions and those in the FAQs and I've given up.

This really could be better accomplished by hard coding into the component "Display cart on checkout?" Yes / No - why all this complicated gymnastics?

Hi,

I don't think that these instructions are that hard to follow, you'll just have to :
1.
- Go to "Hikashop->System->Configuration->'Checkout'"
- Use the "Force a menu on the checkout" option to one of your menu

2.
- Go to your HikaShop Cart Module through your Joomla module manager page
- Set the "Module Assignment" option to Only on the pages selected
- Un-check the menu that your have set through the "Force a menu on the checkout" option.

Ahh! Thank you Mohamed, you touched on the problem which I did not see despite having read the FAQ many, many times (and Nicolas didn't mention!) - the module is the HS cart module. ALl good now, though I still believe the checkbox parameter is a better option.

Thanks.
