If a user gets to Paypal and then cancels payment it is changing order status to cancelled . How can I leave order status as created so the user can pay later ?

Cheers

Hi,

There is no option to leave the order status as "created" when the user clicks on the cancel button.
However, two things:
1. When the user clicks on cancel on PayPal he is redirected back to the checkout with his cart and details like before he was redirected to PayPal. So if he wants to pay, he can just do so at that point again. He doesn't to go to his orders and click on pay.
2. You can configure the order statuses in the menu System>Order statuses to allow customers to pay "cancelled" orders.

Thanks Nicolas,

The scenario I'm trying to account for is when the customer cancels the order, navigates away from the return page, and then attempts to pay using the link provided in the e-mail confirmation for their order.

I'll try configuring option 2 and see how it goes.

Kind Regards
Rob

Hello,

In such case you would have to customize the plugin because the "invalid status" setting is used for several use cases, including the fact that the customer click on the "cancel" button in the Paypal interface.
You can still see to change that setting to "created" but you will have some unwanted side effect for paypal IPN which should invalidate (cancel) the transaction.
