Checkout Finish button reloads the checkout page

-- Joomla version -- : 3.8.11
-- PHP version -- : 7.0.31
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chome
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : n/a

Hi,

I have seen this is a problem for people over the years but it seems like it was patched out long ago. Basically, once you try to complete your order and click on the Finish button, the page just reloads and the order is still in the cart with no error messages.

I have tried many things including;
- Turning error reporting to maximum (nothing reported)
- Disabling all cache and optimisation systems
- Checked settings in Hikashop
- Tried removing payment and shipping methods
- Remove customisations in views files
- Install Hikashop updates

The only thing that seems to get the checkout to work again is to turn legacy mode on. But this has other issues. I'm not sure what else to check.

The website has been working fine for a long time and it seems this only started around the time we updated Hikashop to the latest version (but that might be unrelated).

I wanted to look at the issue on your website with the link you provided however I see you're using the old checkout.
Could you have a copy of the website where we could reproduce the issue ? We would also need a backend access to be able to check your settings.

Hi,

I've looked at the issue thanks.
Well, it's really strange as your checkout is quite empty so there are less things that could go wrong. I also couldn't find any 3rd party plugin or template override which could cause the problem.
I was not able to identify the cause of the blocking.
I'll also need a FTP access to be able to debug the issue. Could you also provide that please ?

Hi,

We found the issue and fixed it on your website.
It was linked to the use of a custom order field with a "display limited to" which blocks the checkout as the data of the options is not consistant enough when we check if something has changed before going to the next step.
I've also added the patch on our end.
