Hello,

when I set up discount (not coupon) the VAT and TOTAL with VAT is always calculated like

discounted price + original price * vat rate

instead of
discounted price + discounted price * vat rate

I tried to change setting apply discount before/after tax without any results. Can you help me, please?

Thank you in advance,
Filip

Hi,

I don't understand what you mean.
Neither of these formulas make sense to me.
Please provide a concrete example:
- screenshot of the discount setting
- screenshot of the settings of a product
- screenshot of the settings of the tax rule
- a link to that product page (or the amount displayed) and precise if it's before or after tax
- what you expect and why

Hello,

okay, let's say that VAT rate is 10 %.
Original price without VAT is 200 EUR.
Discounted price without VAT is 100 EUR.

Total price with VAT shoulder be 110 EUR.
But it 120 EUR, because VAT is calculated from price before discount.

Is that clear?

I cannot provide link because it is in users area.

Thank you,
Filip

Hi,

I think I understand where the confusion is.
Recently we introduced the "automatic tax" setting for coupons but because of a side effect, in some cases it's possible to loose the "product tax category" setting in the discounts.
You need to temporarily change the type setting of your discount to coupon, turn off the "automatic tax" setting and switch back the type setting to discount. You'll then have the "product tax category" setting and you'll be able to select your tax category.
Then, you'll see that the tax amount will take into account the discount.

On our end, we'll add a fix so that the product tax category setting is properly displayed.
