HikaSerial Subscription Beta is Out !

Many of you have been waiting for it since a long time, that's why we are pleased to announce the HikaSubscription Beta !
This is an unstable version : DO NOT USE IT IN PRODUCTION WEBSITE

As some of you already know, it is a new edition of HikaSerial, which include all basis features plus a subscription system.
  • Create plans
  • Manage subscriptions
  • Process actions when the subscription are active and expired

I'm trying to understand if HikaSubscription supports recurring payments. We are about to offer a subscription-based service where the users will be billed monthly or yearly.

1. Will the HikaSubscription have inbuilt support for recurring payments?

2. How will recurring payments work?
For example, Braintree offers a service where they take care of the billing for each month and then sends a notification to the server so the server can renew or cancel the subscription. 2.1 Will you have support for that?

I imagine another way would be that HikaShop sends a request to the payment service at the end of each subscription. 2.2 Will you have support for that?

1 - It will in a future release but it's not available in the beta.

2 - I can't answer to that question for the moment. (CF point 1)

Hello,

I'm currently working on the documentation and some minor improvements.
Then I will be able to release a stable version and start to work on the refactoring of "recurring" within HikaShop core to use it in HikaSubscription.

Hi Jerome,
please, from the 2.0.0 version the HikaSubscription Beta disappeared from the "My Subscriptions" area, this What does it mean ?
Is the HikaSubscription included into the HikaSerial 2.0.2 version till its stable release ?

Hi,

HikaSerial has two editions:
- the standard one that you've been using.
- the subscription one that has been released yesterday.
So HikaSerial subscription 2.0.2 is actually the first stable version of HikaSerial subscription (or HikaSubscription in short).

We still have work to make the texts, the images, etc.

We've disabled the access to the beta version of HikaSubscription since the stable version is now available.

Extra note: To be precise, the beta program has been stopped some months ago since we had feedback and we knew that we would have to publish the first release including the recurring system. When HikaSerial 2.0.1 has been published, the beta was already disabled.
