-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.heritagemelbourne.vic.edu.au/index.p...t=listing&Itemid=276
Compare with chcm-dev.marblebon.com.au/index.php?opti...t=listing&Itemid=276
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.2.2
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5

We have a production site, and a development site which was a copy of the production site. The Hikashop installations on both sites were exactly the same. However some modules were inadvertently deleted from the Joomla Module Manager on the production site. The top level and one subcategory and the individual product page are still in place, but another subcategory and the product listing pages are missing.

I haven't been able to restore them. I asked for help in the Commercial Jobs category but have had no response. Now I'm wondering if the answer is to copy the database tables from the development site which is complete and working well, into the production site database. Would this be the way to go?

Hi,

The solution will probably be to install Hikashop on both website, and then export/copy Hikashop tables from your "development" database, to your "production" database.

Also, note that making a backup is always a good security.

Well, I finally got the database tables from the development site copied onto the production site. They're now identical. However the problem remains. Nothing has changed. I'm at a loss what to do next, and my very patient client is asking for a timeframe. Anyone have any ideas at all how to restore the Hikashop structure?

Hi,

Thanks to try to rebuild the categories tree via the menu Products > Categories, then click on "Rebuild".

Regarding the product listing, why not just create it again on the product site using the same parameters than the one used in the development site ?

Looks like no products are shown......... because of the switch on stock or not !!
Check the stock numbers for each product and rebuild de different menus......

Kind regards,
Cornel

Thank you for this suggestion, Xavier:
<Thanks to try to rebuild the categories tree via the menu Products > Categories, then click on "Rebuild".>
I tried it, and the categories tree rebuilt ok, but the missing listings didn't come back.

Eventually in the Display/Content Menus screen I was checking each menu, and several came up with a message that no module was associated... "click here to associate" ... and now all the missing modules are back and the shop is displaying as it should. What a relief!

Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to respond, Cornel. The products are actually all there. It was the links between the categories listing and the individual products that were missing. Now they're back... generated via the Display/Content Menus: when I opened some of the menus a message came up that no modules were associated and an option to re-associate. Neat!
