You have an override on the view 'category / listing' so the settings under the tab 'Product Options' will potentially not be used. Please backup your modifications and delete the override.

Hi
I am using a template with custom views for hikashop. It looks good but I have the doubt that with every new update the functionality can be lost.
With your new update the modules and menus have disappeared in hikashop backend. Instead the only way to configure is right in the menu/module. This makes sense as I had to add modules for every menu. But the error message says that the settings may not be used.
Does this version work with old hikaversions or do I have to update every view?
What happened to the "old" modules? Are the settings added to the menu automatically?
Thanks for helping me understand :)
Regards

Hi,

Yes indeed, with the new version the menus and modules settings are directly in the Joomla settings.

So if you had associated modules to a category listing menu, these settings will directly be kept and present in the "product options" tab in the menu settings under Joomla.

If you try to change the settings of an associated module directly via the module menu in Joomla, these settings are no more used, the system takes the settings in the menu directly now. In the message, you can click on the link to go to the menu to edit.

This allow to set up the menus and modules more easily than on our previous versions.

I hope this answer to your questions.

Hi,

Once you have migrate the menu configuration in the new system, the previous "associated modules" won't be required anymore.
So, in that specific case, yes, you would be able to delete them.
But I recommend to perform a backup before, if you need to restore a module that you delete by mistake (or which is still used).

Hi
Dont the old configurations automatically migrate to the new System?
The old hikashop menus and modules cannot be seen anymore, therefor also the Settings.

Hi,

The old configurations are automatically migrated to the new system indeed.
Is it not the case for you ? Has the layout changed in frontend ?

When looking at the settings in the menu, are they different than before ? Do you have saved the menu before deleting the associated modules ?

Hi
Well, the layout did not change. I have to trust the settings as I cant see the old :)
But what I see is that the category and the product setting point to the same category in every menu.
Example:
categories in hikashop
Root
-A
--a
--b
--c
-B
I had a hika menu and module for every category under A connected with the joomla menu. Now every configuration in the joomla menu points to A. But when clicking on menu b only those products are shown, which is correct. This is probably because of the alias which is the same in the menu and category.
It works so for me its OK and it makes it easier to set it up. Before hika 2.6.0 you had to first create a joomla menu than go to hika settings and point it to a module :)
Really great improvement.

Just one last question. I have a custom view of category listing so the error says the settings may not be used. I now used the view of version 2.6.0 and just put my custumization in. Can I just ignore this warning?

Hi,

Well, if you select a category in the new configuration system ; that category will be used in the front-end.
Xavier made a mistake in the new menu/module configuration system and renamed a setting ; that's mostly why you can see the old selected category in the new interface. The problem was also that if you selected a category, that setting wasn't read properly.
I fixed the second part but Xavier will have the fix the rest, at the first hour Monday morning.

Thanks for your understanding.
