-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.itl-vacuum.com
-- HikaShop version -- : 3.4.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.8.10
-- PHP version -- : NA
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : NA
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : NA

The website currently has a online catalogue powered by Hikashop and the client now wants to sell a limited number of the items online, what is the best way to do this without creating another website? Ideally I would like links to the catalogue of products and then another link to products available for purchase. What is the best solution for this please?

Hi,

You could put the products in different categories. So you'll have two menu items, each one with their "main category" pointing to the main category of each section, one with products that you sell online and the other with products that can't be purchased online.

So you'll have to turn off the "catalogue mode" setting of the HikaShop configuration. Instead, you could either:
- have no prices and turn off the "display add to cart button for free products" setting
- have no stock (quantity)
- have a sale end date in the past
for the products of the catalogue.
You can personnalise the message that will be displayed instead of the add to cart button on the product page of these products with a translation override if necessary:
www.hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify

Thanks I will think this over. Would hikashop allow two installs on the same domain - so we could have a different hikashop store on a sub domain such as shop.itl-vacuum.com?

Hello,

It will be ok if your 2 websites/domains use 2 different databases.

Best regards,
Mohamed Thelji.
