eWay payment method (pre auth)

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help.

We are currently using eWay to take transactions of purchases, but we want the ability to check the credit card (pre auth) and not take any funds until the order has been approved via the administrator area.

Just wondering if anyone has done this, updated the Hikashop eWay plugin and administrator area to accommodate this feature we are after.

Hi,

First you need to check with your payment gateway if they support that possibility.
Because if they don't, it won't be possible.
If they do, then ask them what parameter you need to add with what value and we can guide you based on that.
Also, please precise if you're using "eway" or "eway rapid".

Hi,

No it's the first time someone is asking us about that. So we don't know what parameter should be used.
That's why I was asking you to ask the eway support for more precision on what needs to be done.

There is a eWay rapid plugin created by Obsidev two years ago :

Yes, with some development it is possible to implement the support of the pre-auth and be compatible with the authorize/capture system of HikaShop core.
That core feature allow to make an authorize on order creation and perform the capture when you modify with a specific order status, generally "shipped".

Since it would be a custom development, it would be better to contact a developer to get a quote :
