I need to set the product characteristic in the content plugin shortcode.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi,

Well, anything is possible with enough coding and time. However, there is no quick trick that would allow you to do that.
The characteristics/variants data is not loaded by the content plugin so it would require quite a bit of code to be able to handle the characteristics there.

I just discovered this is possible - though not in the way I initially described it.

The characteristics create variants - each of the variants has its own ID.

Using this ID in the content plugin shortcode does exactly what I was after - creates a button that adds product with specific options to the the cart.

Note that these are not in the editor product list - get the number from the backend product variant tab.

I do have an issue now that I can't figure out - the variant price comes through as 0 - no charge.

Fooling around with the variant price seems not to matter.

Got it - the product price was "restricted" to public access - a result of MijoShop import??

I added a price "restriction" to public in the variant - voila!

Don't understand the setup but it works now.
