Slow response when adding a product to the cart

-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Google Chrome 70.0.3538.102

On the website www.predikaatwijnen.nl/001/wijn-shop I'm building a new webshop for one of my clients. But when I add a product te the shopping cart, it takes sometimes 6-7 seconds before the message appears that the product has been added to the cart.

What can I do to improve the speed?

When I add a second or third product the response is faster.

Hello,

I use your Url link to process some tests, and so far that will be difficult to help you because we were unable to see your issue, the first added product move quick to the checkout.
Now, in order to try reproduce the issue, can you precise :
- the navigator you use to process your test
- Step by step procedure, and even maybe which product did you use to process your test, maybe the root issue is more on the product side than the add to cart trigger.

Hello,

When the cart is updated, some elements are re-processed, such as the available shipping methods (and their prices).
Do you have some "special" shipping methods which would require a Web Service call in order to get the shipping estimation ?
Do you have any plugin which is using web services to work ?

Such kind of wait is generally related to external calls ; the latency and the need to wait an answer can delay a lot the generation of your pages.

Hi,

To be sure there were no delaying plugins, I did a clean installation of the latest Joomla and the latest HikaShop with the sample data.
First there was no delay whan adding a product to a cart. After installing the dutch iDEAL payment plugin and activated as payment option the delay was there. After deactivating that payment option the delay was gone.

Conclusion:
The delay was caused by the Sisow iDEAL payment plugin (Sisow is a Dutch payment organisaton).

Now I have to find out if the delay is caused by the plugin itself or because the payment account is not activated at Sisow yet.
As soon as I know it, I will update this post/
