Custom Amount field no longer working

-- url of the page with the problem -- : brassladle.com/shop
-- HikaShop version -- : 4.0.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9.1
-- PHP version -- : 7.1

on the invoice payment people can fill in amount to pay. this was working before but i changed input type so that the dropdown choices would be easier to read and now i have no more custom amount input. it wants you to pick a quantity. I tried changing that in the product field to use a different quantity input but no change. Please advise how to get this working again.

actually it is working but still showing a dropdown quantity, can i remove that somehow?

Hi,

In each product and in the configuration you have a setting "quantity input method" that you can use to say if you want a dropdown, an text input or no input for the quantity selection.

I tried that and there is no effect when I change it to none. It still shows quantity field.

You mean even with the setting in the product ?
In that case, try to temporarily switch to the default template of Joomla and look at the page on the frontend again. If it removes the quantity field, it means that you have some view override which prevent the option from working properly.

yes product has quantity input setting = NONE and even with default template it still shows quantity in the detail window,

Then we'll have to look deeper into it as we're not able to reproduce the problem.
Please provide a backend access and a product example we can use for our test.
A FTP access might be necessary too if we need to dbeug the situation in the code.

Hi,

The issue is that you still had the "add to cart legacy" setting activated in the HikaShop configuration.
I've deactivated it in order to use the new add to cart system of HikaShop 3 as the old one doesn't support the quantity input field not being displayed.
It seems to be working fine now. I've also activated the new checkout which looks and works much better.
