Ignore Warehouse when using shipping method

Hi,

There are a number of warehouses setup with products in each. I have setup 1 shipping method with a simple restriction of UK only and under 1Kg, cost is £5.

If a customer selects products from multiple warehouses the shipping method is applied to each warehouse. However, I don't want this, I would like the shipping method to be applied once for the cart.If there are 3 warehouses the price of shipping ends up being £15!

I do understand the need to have specific shipping rules for each warehouse, but this doesn't work in all instances?

If you don't plan to use one shipping method per warehouse, using warehouses in your product won't be necessary, so the best solution will be to :
- Remove warehouses from your products
or
- Create one shipping method per warehouse.

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately we are using the warehouse to customize email output so moving the products into one warehouse is not possible. Also its not logical as the client does in fact use multiple warehouses but one shipping method.

Is there any customisation that can be done so that the shipping methods do not separate per warehouse? Seems logical that there should be an option not to split shipping per warehouse?

This seems very limiting. The warehouse section needs to be expanded with more functionality.

examples could be.

• attributing more information per warehouse
• shipping emails that can be sent directly to each warehouse, so that the warehouse can deal with the shipping of goods
• ability for shipping method to ignore the split per warehouse and provide over all shipping cost
• manage stock based on warehouse
