Extra transport costs for a specific product variant

Hi,
I have a product with variants.
Some variants, but not all of them, are in glass bottle.
To send the glass bottles I need to use a specific box that are expensive.
So I need to set an extra charge for the user that buy that specific variant in glass bottle.
The extra charge have to be for each product: 1 €.
Example:
I buy 4 normal products. The normal shipping cost are 10€.
I buy 2 normal products + 2 glass bottle products. The shipping cost have to be 10 + 1 +1 =12
Is there a way to doo that?

Hi,

Activate the "use shipping price per product" setting of your shipping methods, and in the variants needing the extra cost, add that 1€ cost in the shipping price of the shipping methods under the "shipping prices" section of the variant edition interface.

On the manual shipping method I can find the "use price per product" (screenshot 1). Is it this that I have to enable?
On the product variant I'm not be able to find the "shipping prices" section of the variant (screenshot 2). Where is it?

Ok, I've got it!
Just a last question. Is there a way to give notice to the user about that on the frontend?
I mean that i find the shipping price just added with the extra cost, without notice for the user.

Hi,

Yes, I'm talking about that option "use price per product".
And the "shipping prices" section will display at the bottom of the product edition page, but only if you have at least one shipping method with that setting activated.
I would recommend reading this tutorial:

Note that there are some settings in the manual shipping prices plugin which allow you to display the product shipping prices on the product pages.

Hi,
I have over 100 manual shipping methods.
After I set all of them on one of my product variant, Is there a way, mass action, to copy all of the settings on the other product variants?

Hi,

Not with a mass action.
What you can do is export the hikashop_shipping_price table as a CSV in your phpmyadmin, add the entries you want in the CSV based on what you already have in there and import it back.
