Hello,
When shipping with UPS and the combined weight is over 150Ibs the system stops returning a shipping price.

However, at the UPS website we are allowed to ship
- total max weight per shipment = 200 kg or 440 lbs
- a maximum of 20 boxes per shipment
- weight /box is 10kg.
- our boxes are 38 x 30 x 20 cm

Please advise - is there an edit we can make in the plugin code to allow up to 20 boxes as above and override the defaults?

*** more information ***

In the ADMIN side for the UPS SHIPPING plugin I changed the unit measure in WAREHOUSE from KG to LBS here is what happened.

- the calculated price did NOT change !!
- I can add more products and more weight to an order and still get a shipping cost

Not certain what is going on here please advise.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

1. Firstly, can you show us more information through some screenshots about how you configured :
- Your UPS shipping method
- The product dimensions/weight and shipping address that's part of your order when you're testing it

2. It should still be the same as product dimensions/weight will just be converted to these dimensions and set to the UPS platform that way, but thank you for your feedback, we'll test it on our end.

Best regards,
Mohamed Thelji.

Hello,

I just checked the UPS shipping plugin code and the best solution will probably be to enable Trade Direct / Freight shipping services through your UPS configuration page to remove the dimension/weight restriction.

Thank you Mohamed - I will do this and report back to you.

What do you think about the odd behaviour with the WAREHOUSE LBS vs KG issue?

You mean at UPS website - yes?
If yes - where exactly is the setting please?

In the Hikashop plugin I turned on the following:
- Trade Direct Cross Border (ALL)
- Trade Direct Air (ALL)
- Trade Direct Ocean (ALL)
- UPS Freight LTL (ALL)
- UPS Freight LTL Guaranteed (ALL)
- UPS Freight LTL Urgent (ALL)
Did not work at all.

As mentioned before when the Warehouse setting in the plugin is changed from KG to LBS it works - but if the above are active it does not.
Best

Hello Tony,

Yes, I was talking about these services and it should have removed dimensions / weight package restriction, so if you're still not having any rates it's probably coming from the fact that the UPS platform just doesn't return any rate for these packages.

We'll investigate on our end about the LB vs KG issue but it's probably coming from the act that package weight / dimensions limits aren't converted based on the unit option.

Thank you for your feedback !

Mohamed,

Just to summarise then...

Context 1:
Products have dimensions + weight in metric (kg, g, cm)
Warehouse set to kg

Orders totalling BELOW 150lbs shipping works
Orders totalling ABOVE 150lbs shipping does NOT work

Context 2:
Products have dimensions + weight in metric (kg, g, cm)
Warehouse set to LBS

Orders totalling BELOW 150lbs shipping works
Orders totalling ABOVE 150lbs shipping works

Context 3:
Products have dimensions + weight in metric (kg, g, cm)
Warehouse set to LBS or KG
+
Freight / TRADE activated

Orders totalling BELOW 150lbs shipping does NOT work
Orders totalling ABOVE 150lbs shipping does NOT work

** We will run some more test for context 2 with respect to shipping costs.
Looking forward to hearing back soon.

Thank you Mohamed.

Hello,

In that case the best solution for you will be to use the 2nd context or even to use 2 different UPS shipping methods by using the "Minimum/Maximum weight" options to have different shipping configurations based on if you have an order below or above 150 lbs.

Thank you for your feedback ! We'll reproduce it on our end and probably improve it.

Okay. We will leave it at this point as it appears to work adequately.

Thank you for your input - we look forward to the next update to the plugin.

Best
