Quote from the online manual:

Description - This screen enables you to create or edit a manual shipping method. Shipping methods will be filtered on checkout based on the limitations you set for each shipping method. Then, they will be displayed to the user for him to choose which shipping method he prefers for his order.

Mabe this description needs some deepening:
1) why are the "rules" in order ? Does it make any difference?
2) is there a way to implement a negated logic? (eg: all france except Corse)
3) is there a way to abort rule evaluation? I need not to output more than one result. No user option is to be offered on calculated shipment method. This would ease the evaluation phase so much! I could order the rules by priority eliminating the need of configuring lots of specific rules.

Thanks!

Hi,

1. The "rules" (or "shipping methods" as we call them) order is the order in which they will appear on the selection of shipping methods on the checkout. The first one being automatically pre-selected.
2. There is no negated logic. Note however that for the zone restriction, you can create a zone of the type "shipping" via the menu System>Zones with all the sub zones you want (so for example, all the departments of france except corsica) and then you can select that zone in the zone restriction setting of your shipping methods. That way, you don't have to create one shipping method for each department if there is only one department with different shipping fees.
3. If you remove the "shipping" view from the "checkout workflow" of the HikaShop configuration (or set it to "read only") the shipping method selection interface won't display on the checkout. However, the first available shipping method will still be pre selected automatically.

Thank you very much for your helpful reply.
Mabe rule precondition negation and rule evaluation abortion are not so hard to implement ? Mabe they could proove to be effort-and-computating saving too? Will you ever consider to implement them ?

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback, we'll probably consider it. For the moment, the best solution will be to directly create a shipping method for each case.

Kind regards,
Mohamed Thelji.
