We had a customer go through the checkout process without being charged any taxes, but we can't replicate the situation. Is there any reason this would happen?

Hi,

Without any detail about your website, the HikaShop version number, the customer, the order, his address in the order, your tax rules, the order history... It will be just impossible for us to give you any useful answer.
Please note that the question we are asking when you create a new subject are there for a good reason.

It's catchat.ca, running the most recent version of HikaShop. The site is set up to set currency based on geo-location (if in Canada, use CAD, otherwise it's USD). When a customer has a Canadian billing address, they are charged sales tax.
This customer used a Canadian address, but was not charged tax.

Hi,

I'm afraid it does not provide the required details.

the HikaShop version number, the customer, the order, his address in the order, your tax rules, the order history..

We need very precise information ; based on screenshots.
Please understand that without concret and detailed information, we won't be able to understand so we wont be able to help you !

Hi,

Thank you for the detailed information.

I see that you have an address field called "Parish / Organisation". There is no such field by default in HikaShop.
Is it the address_company field that you renamed ?
In that case, I can see a way this could happen:
You've limited the tax rules to "individual" clients, but if you enter something in the address_company custom field, you're no longer an individual, you're a company and thus your tax rules do not apply.

Ah, that makes sense! That field is in fact the address_company field, with a new name. If I change the tax rules to "All customer types", will that solve my issue?
