100% Coupon with taxcloud behavior change after upgrade to 3.0.1

-- HikaShop version -- : 3.0.1
-- Joomla version -- : 3.7.1

We are using Hikashop with AWOCoupon and TaxCloud. We have several 100% off coupons that are used by our admins to place orders. Before updating to Hikashop 3.0.1 the orders placed with these coupons would result in a zeroed out total. After updating to 3.0.1 tax is no longer zeroed out and the orders alway have a balance.

2 questions:

1) What changed? Why would these work before the update and now they don't?

2) How can we fix it so our 100% off coupons zero out the orders again?

Hi,

I'm not able to reproduce the problem with normal HikaShop coupons.

Note that the TaxCloud plugin adds the taxes to the products in the cart before the HikaShop coupons are loaded in the cart. That was already the case before.
However, maybe AWOCoupon uses the same trigger as TaxCloud (onAfterCartProductsLoad) and in that case, if the order of the integration plugins were changed on your website for some reason, It could be possible that the AWO coupons are loaded before the tax are calculated and in that case, the coupon couldn't take into account the taxes and thus you would be left with only the taxes in the cart.
So check that in the Joomla plugins manager.

I've tried changing the order of the Hikashop Awocoupon and Hikashop Taxcloud plugin. No change.

I've also tried toggling the apply before/after tax both in Hikashop and Awocoupon configuration settings. No change.

Tax is still being charged after discounting 100%.

Anything else we can try?

We are using the latest releases of Hikashop, Awocoupon & taxcloud.

Hi,

First, try with a normal HikaShop coupon. Do you have the problem ?
If yes, then there might be something we can do. Otherwise, I'm afraid that it's something that will have to be adapted in AWO Coupon. Did you contact them ?

It does indeed work correctly with a Hikashop 100% coupon. I'll contact AWO and let you know what we find out.

It sounds like AWOCoupon is not triggering a new tax Lookup after applying the coupon. IF they are modifying any sales price, they need to clean up by triggering re-calculation of tax. If they are not doing this, it will cause the same issue with any/every tax engine.
