I'm looking to add HikaSerial to my site, but I want to make sure it's the right tool for the job.

My customer sells audio/video recordings of special events. He's wanting to go straight digital Download and still wants to do pre-order sales on site. Would it be possible to produce the codes in advance, print them on a card with a URL to the product? If so, where does the serial code go? The coupon field?

Hello,

It depends the generator you're using.
HikaSerial is a unique content generator, you have a lot of plugins which allow to create different kind of serial. They can be just codes but they can also be HikaShop coupon codes, or else.
Afterwards, thanks to the plugin "attach serial" (and "pdf serial" in HikaSerial 2) you can generate a document as attachment in the email notifications.
HikaSerial is very flexible but you first need to know what kind of content you want to generate and for what purpose (how they will be used).

The product will be audio and video recordings. We're still wanting to collect their money their on site, but not deliver the product for a few days (Post-production editing time).

I'm guessing the Coupon Code generator is more of what I'm looking for then.

Some kind of pre-sale and the final product will be available in your store later ?
If so, yes a coupon generator could do the trick but would require a follow a precise configuration workflow.
But I can't really guarantee as long as I don't understand what you want to do exactly/precisely ; I got a vague idea but not more.
