So it should be done in two steps. When you click on "generate" it uses the generator in the actual saved configuration. When you submit the "generate" page, you should stay in the same page with a notice message saying "XX serials generated with success". (where XX is the number of serials you asked). If you want to generate coupons with the coupon generator you should have a coupon template without any product needed (no variable price, just fixed price). It does not stay in the same page as you say, it just goes back to the pack listing.
