Serial Generation Before the Purchase

This site is a conversion from another older system, so there are many, many serial numbers that were imported in from that old system. Now when the available serial numbers are getting low, we need the ability to generate "X" number of new random numbers, then print those numbers out to give to the advertiser so they know which numbers are valid when someone brings the serial into their store.
Is this possible and with what generator?

Hi,

You can be noticed when the quantity is getting low.

Then you can import your new serials or set temporally a serial generator and then use the "generate" button (in the toolbar).
Once you have new serials, these serials will be "free", so you can use it as a filter for the backend serial listing and perform an "export".

That worked great. But why do you say to set the generator "temporarily"? Is it not a good idea to leave it set?

Hi,

You can leave the generator in the pack configuration ; but you won't receive any "low stock level" notification because if HikaSerial is not able to find a serial in the database, it will use the generator to create them.
Which mean that it will be done automatically and you couldn't export the "new serials" like that.
