Robots use advice-form, even with captcha

Hi there,

On my website we get many advice-requests for a product every day, that have been sends by a robot. There is a reCaptcha on the form, but still we get many of such emails.
Is there a direct url that robots can use to send these e-mails to overrule the captcha? And what is your advice to stop these spam?

Hi,

There is no URL that robots can use to send these emails. That would defeat the purpose of the captcha.
However, captcha can easily be solved by robots too nowadays:

So I'm afraid there is not much you can do.
There are many "anti spam" plugins for Joomla:
extensions.joomla.org/tags/spam-protection/
But most of them are for the registration form only.
You have this one which apparently can be added to any form:
extensions.joomla.org/extension/access-a...ecurity/ospam-a-not/
But I've never tried it so I can't say for sure that it would work for the contact form, and even if you add it, it doesn't mean that it will prevent all your spam either.

Thank you for this very complete answer, even if this is beyond the scope of the great software you deliver.
I will check the solutions you mention, and try to accept the fact that spam will never be banned 100%.
