Customize backend dashboard

When you log in to the backend you see a dashboard with blocks of information. Is it possible to customize it? E.g. I don't need the geographic sales. I found this topic from 6 years ago. A workaround is an override and/or css, but maybe there is a configurable way now?

As mentioned on that thread, you can use CSS to hide some of the things there.
If you're a developer, you can also develop a custom statistics override to completely customize it as per the "template override" section of our developer documentation:

But we didn't develop an interface to be able to customize the dashboard easily.
Also, you can use the legacy dashboard with the widgets. We're still using it on our end as it provides many options to customize the old dashboard.

Hi Nicolas, I've read about the workaround in the other thread. Jerome also wrote "we want to improve that in future releases". So I was curious if anything had changed since than, because I couldn't find it in the backend
It's still the same trick, not a problem.
