I'm redeveloping a website I built years ago using a different shopping and need to replicate the product setup for a Buy as Gift product. I've attached a screenshot of the current product which shows it has extra fields for Recipient Name, Address etc, that I need to be captured with the order. From what I've read on the forums it seems to me that the Item Fields in the Business edition is the solution but am hoping you can confirm that for me? The characteristics are still shown at the product page (backend with all informations and prices, frontend only as list table etc.). So far ok - but - there is no more change in prices or description if someone changes in the frontend his choice (Characteristic A to B). This had functioned in 1.6 quite good.
