Not sure why this is happening but on my product pages the brand link (which is created when you select Brand in the dropdown backend product page). Returns a blank page. But when on my Brand page the link works fine.

For example for the brand "Sunny Designs"
The link does NOT work: (click on brand: Sunny Designs) and you'll get a blank page

BUT THE SAME PRODUCT but using brand through link works??? Don't understand why this is?
This Link WORKS (click on brand: Sunny Designs) and it works

The link furnitureandthings.com/component/hikasho...ub-table-w-slate-top is not correct.
There is no menu selected for it. That's why you get a blank page when you click on the brand because the menu is missing and is necessary to joomla when the SEF is activated.

Where do you get the link furnitureandthings.com/component/hikasho...ub-table-w-slate-top from ? I suppose a products listing module somewhere on your website. In the HikaShop options of that module, you should set a category/brand listing menu item in the "menu" option and you won't have that issue.

I am having the same basic problem, and I don't understand what you are saying...sorry

My Shop By Brand is a filter...if you select AKW, you get all the AKW products...but the brand link on an individual product page comes up blank.

You say a menu or module is needed and that's where I'm confused...do I need to create a menu/module for each brand???

Could you please explain a little better...thanks

There is no such brand link on the product page by default.
So it must come from a customization of the code you made which doesn't take into account that you can access the product page from the filter results page.
The solution will be to modify the code of that link to force the Itemid of the link to a category listing menu item.

Since this is something you must have customized you should where to edit it.
Just add something like: &Itemid= with the id you want, at the end of the link.

Something is being lost here...

I did not do any customization to display the Brand on a product page. This is a NEW installation of the current business version of Hikashop and Joomla 3.

Yes, I assigned the product to a brand...but no, I never created the link...as shown here...

this was created by Hikashop...when you click on it, you get a blank page.

I had the same problem and found out it has something to do with cache.

The default manufacturer link on product page links to related brand products fine after clicking hikashop category, it does not work after clicking a relevant joomla menu item.

After I changed the content menu to "type of content" category, saved, reload the blank page and then changed the "type of content" do product again, the issue was solved. clearing cache would probably do the trick as well.

You would have to edit the file "show_block_dimensions" via the menu Display->Views and change the piece:
'&Itemid='.$Itemid
in the file line:
Code:
echo JText::_('MANUFACTURER').': '.'<a href="'.hikashop_completeLink('category&task=listing&cid='.$manufacturer->category_id.'&name='.$manufacturer->alias.'&Itemid='.$Itemid).'">'.$manufacturer->category_name.'</a>';
to:
'&Itemid=XXX'

where XXX is the id of one of your category listing menu items.

Then, it means that either the id that you entered there is not a category listing menu item, or that the menu item hikashop options are not correct.

There is no associated products listing module attached to your menu so that's why you don't see any products wen you click on that link.

we apologize, however due to a fatal error while working on another part of our site we have been forced to reinstall from a back-up that does not contain the items discussed here.
