Enter a value with an empty value and the title "Title *". The placeholder setting of your fields will allow you to enter text that will be visible in the input textbox so you can do it like that and then simply hide the normal title with CSS. I though I tired this before, but the default value "Title *" could be selected: but I put the value also in it.
