Hi guys,

Since my J3 installation won't properly upgrade to J4, I will be forced to start with a brand new installation for Joomla4.
Is there any documentation on how to transfer my Hikashop from the old site to the new site?

Guess I have to install the same Hikashop version on J4 and then push over all tables from hikashop?

Since it's on a test site anyway, I've

- installed Joomla4
- Installed Hikashop 4.6.2
- Took a database backup from the live site
- Removed all tables but those with hikashop_ in them
- Restored the tables on the Joomla 4 database

Everything seems to be in place.

Anything else I need to do???

Hi,

First, you should migrate the Joomla user accounts to the new website. There are several extensions on the JED for that.
Once done, you should export/import the "hikashop" tables from your old database to your new one via PHPMyAdmin. You might need to change the tables prefix if both websites don't have the same prefix.
Finally, you can install HikaShop on the new website and it should automatically see the data from the old website.
Also, you'll want to migrate via FTP the files and folders of the folders images/com_hikashop/upload/ (for the images) and media/com_hikashop/upload/ (for the files) and templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_hikashop/ (for the view overrides).

hmmm, almost done rebuilding.

Can I migrate the Joomla users later, or will this cause problems?
If so, all Hikashop registered users can't login?

Hi,

You'll have to do a "check database" in the HikaShop configuration, to resynchronize the users after you migrate them and it should be ok. Please make sure you don't create new users in the meantime.

Thanks Nicolas, I've exported the user table from J3, changed the prefix and imported in J4 using myPHPadmin.
Check database in Hikashop gave all OK, so guess we're good ![:)](/media/kunena/emoticons/3.png ":)")
