After updating HikaShop, we have noticed that in the product variants list, the icons indicating whether a variant is Published and/or set as Default are now barely visible. I have attached a screenshot. As you can see, especially in the “Published” column, the white icons on the light grey background have very little contrast. Previously, these statuses were much easier to identify at a glance. Are you aware of this change or of any styling issue related to the latest HikaShop versions? If so, is a fix planned? In the meantime, is there any backend CSS we can safely modify to make these icons more visible without causing issues with future updates? We are currently using HikaShop 6.6.0. Thank you. | [](/forum/25-install-update/910785-importing-a-category-tree-when-several-categories-share-the-same-name) | [Importing a category tree when several categories share the same name](/forum/25-install-update/910785-importing-a-category-tree-when-several-categories-share-the-same-name "-- HikaShop version -- : 6.5.2 -- Joomla version -- : 6;1.3 -- PHP version -- : 8.3 Hi We use HikaShop on Joomla (FaLang: ru, en, ua, ge). Our catalog is a tree where leaf categories often have the same display name under different parents. Example: Judaica → Hamsa Christianity → Hamsa (later) Brand A → Hand cream / Brand B → Hand cream The names on the storefront must stay identical. Renaming leaves (“Hamsa Judaica”, “Hand cream 1”) is not acceptable. What we tried Product import (Products → Import) with parent_category + categories, and “Create automatically missing categories” enabled. HikaShop looks up categories by name and takes the first match. The second “Hamsa” is not created; products from both branches land in one category. parent_category does not disambiguate an existing category. Putting only the leaf name in categories (as in a HikaShop product export) — same result. Docs say the categories column can be IDs or namekeys. That works for assigning products, but only after the two “Hamsa” categories already exist. Product import does not seem able to create two categories with the same category_name and different namekeys. Nicolas wrote on the forum that aliases cannot be used for this, and that category IDs should be used instead. Question What is the supported way to create and update such a tree automatically (CSV, mass action, or another built-in tool), so that: display names may repeat; each category has a stable unique key (namekey or ID); later product imports can attach products by that key, not by name? Is there a category-only import (not the product importer) that accepts category_name + category_namekey + parent? Or can product import create a missing category by namekey while keeping a separate display name? We would rather not maintain a custom PHP script or import #__hikashop_category by hand. If the product CSV cannot do this, please confirm that, and tell us the official workflow you recommend. Thank you") Category: [Install & Update](/forum/25-install-update "Having an installation or update issue? You will probably find some help here.") Before the import, the product has: Tax category: Impuestos España After the import, it changes automatically to: Tax category: Electronic goods & services I am not intentionally modifying the tax category during the import. Could you please tell me: What CSV field/column controls the product tax category during an import? If that column is not included in the CSV, should HikaShop preserve the existing tax category? Could HikaShop be assigning a default tax category during the import? Is there any configuration or import behaviour that could explain why Electronic goods & services is being assigned automatically? It is a bug on our side, and it has nothing to do with the database, the host or ModSecurity. Thank you for the very detailed tests, they are what allowed us to find it. The trigger is a leftover com_hikashop folder on the site. Joomla decides between a fresh install and an update by looking at the folders, not at the database: in ComponentAdapter::checkExtensionInFilesystem(), if components/com_hikashop, administrator/components/com_hikashop or api/components/com_hikashop already exists, and the extension provides an update() method in its install script, which HikaShop does, Joomla routes the installation as an update. And for the "update" route, InstallerAdapter::parseQueries() does not run the SQL file declared in the manifest, which is the file that creates the tables of HikaShop. So no table is created, HikaShop then queries its configuration table, the query fails, and Joomla aborts with the two messages you get. That is why a really fresh Joomla works and a restored one does not: the restore brings back the folders of HikaShop while the tables are gone, and deleting the rows of the extensions table does not remove those folders. So to answer your questions: - What decides fresh install versus update: the presence of the component folder on disk, decided by Joomla before our install script even runs, not anything of ours in the database. - What the Akeeba restore changes: nothing it does wrong. It simply puts the files back, and the empty database then no longer matches them. - A debug switch: not needed here, the fix removes the problem. We fixed it: HikaShop now creates its missing tables itself in that situation, instead of stopping. We reproduced your exact case on a Joomla 6.1 site with the com_hikashop folders present and no HikaShop table, and the installation now goes through. So you can download the install package on our website and install it on yours and then the problem should not happen. Alternatively, delete the com_hikashop folders before installing: components/com_hikashop, administrator/components/com_hikashop, api/components/com_hikashop, and media/com_hikashop, then install the package again. Instead of the normal texts we now see the raw language keys everywhere (for example SHOW_FOOTER, IMAGE_POPUP_MODE, USE_CHOSEN, and even the update notice itself shows as UPDATE_LANGUAGE / LOAD_LATEST_LANGUAGE). A screenshot is attached. The important point: the Dutch language file is definitely present and installed. We have verified this: - In HikaShop > System > Configuration > Languages, Dutch (nl-NL) is listed as installed. When we open it with the Edit icon, the full list of translated strings is shown, so the file exists and is filled. - Via FTP the file nl-NL.com_hikashop.ini is present and not empty, in both /language/nl-NL/ and /administrator/language/nl-NL/. - The files and folders have the correct read permissions. What we have already tried, without any result: - Reinstalled the HikaShop 6.5.2 package over the existing installation. - Clicked "Load latest from server" for the Dutch language and saved. - Cleared the Joomla cache. So the nl-NL file is present, but HikaShop keeps showing the untranslated keys after the update. Could you tell us what can cause the language file not to be loaded, and how to solve it? However, after attempting to update HikaShop Business to version 6.5.2, our production site completely crashed with fatal PHP errors. We hold active paid subscriptions for both HikaShop Business and HikaSerial, yet this update has completely halted our business operation. This is not the first time I have reported similar compatibility breakages after an update. It is deeply frustrating as a paying customer to face a crashed site right before a commercial launch and have to act as a QA tester for legacy code issues. --- ### Environment Details * **Joomla Version:** 6.1.2 * **PHP Version:** 8.4.23 (Ubuntu NTS) * **Web Server:** Apache/2.4.58 (Ubuntu) * **Software:** HikaShop Business 6.5.2 & HikaSerial --- ### Technical Breakdown of the Fatal Errors #### 1. HikaShop Core: `TypeError: 0 Value of type null is not callable` * **File:** `administrator/components/com_hikashop/helpers/helper.php` (lines ~4175 and ~1811) * **Stack Trace:** Triggered during installation via `hikashop_loadTranslationFile()` inside `install.hikashop.php`. * **Root Cause:** Under PHP 8.4, `$resetOverride->bindTo($lang, 'JLanguage')` returns `null`. The code attempts to directly invoke `$resetOverrideCB()` without checking `is_callable()`, instantly triggering a fatal `TypeError` crash. #### 2. HikaSerial / Helper: Missing Legacy Joomla 3 Classes * **File:** `administrator/components/com_hikaserial/helpers/helper.php` & `plg_hikashop_serials` * **Stack Trace:** Triggered during the `onHikashopBeforeCheckDB` event. * **Root Cause:** The HikaSerial helper still relies on obsolete Joomla 3 legacy classes that do not exist on Joomla 6.1.2, throwing consecutive fatal errors: * `Class "JURI" not found` * `Class "JControllerLegacy" not found` * `Class "JObject" not found` --- ### Request Please provide an immediate patched ZIP package or hotfix for both HikaShop Business and HikaSerial that safely checks for callables under PHP 8.4 and replaces legacy Joomla 3 calls with native Joomla 6 namespaces. Since our store is offline and our product launch is completely halted, a prompt response and resolution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.")
