I can select the category "New Products", but as soon as I hit save it reverts back to "product category". Any ideas? This should display an error message which can help us to understand the issue. Are you sure that your category tree is not broken ? Could you try to rebuild it by clicking on the "rebuild" button in the toolbar ? I rebuilt the category tree, but still was not able to set "New Products" as the category for the module.
