Product Code can be used as well, but it is a manual entry every time. Reason is, a lot of folks order over the phone/email in my case. And with extensive inventory it is very hard to figure out which exact product customer wants to order. With Item # (Product ID, Code etc) it is waaaay easier to accomplish so.
