I'm creating categories for all type of books (love story, thriller, etc...), and I easily setted the manufacturers but I'm having difficulties to create a new "feature": the author. Right now I can't add a new category named AUTHOR in the category folder because there are the types of books in it. At the same time the search plugin don't display something different from CATEGORY and MANUFACTURER folders to check when you are filtering your results. How can I add an AUTHOR field that is showed in product display view and it's filterable in "research" plugin? Let me know. Thanks")* Hi, With commercial versions of HikaShop (essential and business) it is possible to create custom fields for the "product". It allows you to extends the fields of the products and display them in the product page. These custom field can also be include in the Joomla search (by configuring the plugin "search - hikashop product" and adding the field in the list). You can test the product custom field in our demo website : [ demo.hikashop.com/](http://demo.hikashop.com/) (you have access to the backend and frontend with the demo account). But there are other possibilities. HikaShop is a multi-category store ; it means that you can put a product in several categories in a same time. So you can create a category tree for the categories, and another for the author or the manufacturer. More than that, you have to know that HikaShop is compatible with the Joomla tag system. The tag system is also a solution to group products with a common value. The tags are also compatible with the Joomla search.
