We use guest checkout to avoid users having to register, there probably is an easier way to collect the information that we need but for now how it is has been working but the confirmation emails are a major problem for us.")* I had the same problem but found the answer (for me - at least) When I checked Joomla sendmail it refused to send because I was the only member in the group I was sending to (Administrator) Created a new group *test* and assigned me and one more user to it before I sent an e-mail to the group Mail was received by the other user but not by me I then opened the site, registered as a new user with another email-address and received confirmation mail immediately Clicked on the confirmation link and logged in, registered an order, committed and received confirmation mail immediately My conclusion is that Joomla refuses to send mail to the person currently logged in ps! I also tested the tip regarding disabled Multiparts but there seems to be a bug: 1. Used Wireshark to log the traffic sent upon submit (multipart) 2. Turned Multipart of 3. We have no actually registration process... but originally we used to get informed when an order was created on the shop, however now we only know when a paypal payment is made. Which is annoying as traditionally if someone went part way though an order and had put their phone number or email in we would know to get in touch with them now we have to manually check to see if there are any like this. We use guest checkout to avoid users having to register, there probably is an easier way to collect the information that we need but for now how it is has been working but the confirmation emails are a major problem for us.")* One thing we have in common is that some users do not receive mail **My previous conclusion is wrong:** I register a new user from joomla admin and assigned the same groups as the admin-user not receiving confirmation mail when posting an order This new user receives confirmation mail as expected and it makes no difference if the user is logged in to joomla admin at the same time The only difference I can see on the 2 users is the time they where created: The one not working was created before Hikashop was installed To test if this is the cause you could: 1. Create a new user assigned to groups as a user not receiving mail (eg. notification emails) 2. Your wireshark screenshot shows that your browser and your web server exchange HTTP requests in multipart mode. It has nothing to do with the fact that HikaShop will send the emails via sendmail in multipart or not. It's just a coincidence that HTTP and emails use the same term for different things. Regarding the emails sending: it has nothing to do with when the user was registered or if the user is logged in. HikaShop always send the emails if you tell it to. If you don't get the emails sent to a specific email address but that it works for other email addresses, that means that either: - the emails arrive in the spam box of that email address - the emails are not sent by sendmail because of a configuration issue of the email server (for example, it doesn't want the from and the to of the email to be the same, or something like that). - the emails are rejected by the receiving server (for example, when your own email server is black listed by the receiving server, or when the email box is full, or has been deleted). @nathan-walsh : I've checked a few of your websites but either they don't have any order or they have only a few created orders without any notification in the history and they seem to have been created from the backend (so it's normal that you don't get any notification). Could you reexplain precisely what is the problem with a clear example on one website with one order, detailing the step by step so that we can clearly understand what is going on ? We have been keeping the orders neat so test orders etc have been canceled we have never created an order on the back end ever. I will do a test on each one now with my name and email. All via the front end so there will be something there. I don't think we have ever done an order on the back end and the ones that are there will have been completed by customers so therefore will have had a requirement to send an order has been created and a payment received email to our enquireies email. Hikashop then reported an SMTP error. I guessed that it failed again but soon after I received mail in all my accounts and devices registered on google - including my android.
