You should turn off the coupon code in that case and that should help. However, in that case, that means that you'll have the points payment method in the list of the payment methods, and when you finish the order, a coupon will be added to the order and you'll get back to the checkout so that you can select another payment method. I don't see this as user friendly and having the customer being able to select again the points payment method if he has enough points would be problematic as he would loose points again for the same coupon value if he selects it again. So not ideal. Maybe with different minimum value, without minimum amount restriction, the points of all the matching points payment methods might cumulate with the coupon mode. So you might want to try that. But it's a stretch. The system is just not meant to do what you want it to do. I'm afraid you'll have to have a developer customize the points payment plugin for your needs. Because it's still a payment plugin, it need to still have the previous features and it cannot move forward. My opinion is that it should become a classical HikaShop plugin and not a payment one ; so it can have restrictions which won't be handle by the payment system but by the plugin itself. It requires some development but, I think, that's the best way to improve it by removing his "payment method" feature.
