There were no software changes on our site (we haven't made the update to Joomla5 yet) no Joomla change, no PHP change, no Apache change. At the moment the error began, we were on Hikashop v5, I have since upgraded to v6.1, but saw no change. I also tested the plugin's debug setting. We bought the plugin in late 2023, so we still should be covered by its 4-years of updates offer., if there is an update out there. When I went into Authorize.net, I saw that they had updated their user interface since I had last visited, but there were no notices of a system update on their site. During an internal refactoring of how payment plugins record information on orders, the step that stores the beginning of the credit card number on the order stopped being executed. We have just fixed the issue and it has been included in the 6.4.1 version of HikaShop we just released. If you need the fix without updating, you can edit the file administrator/components/com_hikashop/helpers/paymentplugin.php.
