Download again the install package of HikaShop on our website, and install it on yours. It should associate automatically all the orphan products with the main category and you'll then be able to move them around to their category. Like them I can assign a category to quickly and pass rates because manually will be an amount of time I can not afford. You can try to clear your data and try again, but you might be faced with the same problem again. The VirtueMart import is a tricky beast as different versions of VirtueMart have a different database structure and even for the same version it can happen that the database structure was changed either for customization or for specific extensions to VirtueMart. There is a mass actions system you can use to the prices/categories rapidely but it might prove difficult to tell the system which products should be affected each time. So it might not be that useful.
