What am i doing wrong?")* I have read the documentation on the site and have followed the instructions, but my hikashop doesn't automatically create the module when i create the menu module. I have tried manually creating the module display, but dont seem to be getting it right. The sentence below is from the documentation and the bolded bit seems a bit ambiguous to me... > That's the **role of the "Menu" option of the categories group of options of the module where you will tell the system to use the options of one of the HikaShop menus**. There, you will have to set a HikaShop menu listing categories or products (be it published if you use it somewhere else or unpublished in most of the cases). I see that you emptied the "number of items" option of the menu but that shouldn't change anything. So that would mean that the problem comes from the fact that there are no products attached to the category. If you go on the products listing on the back end and click on the accessories category on the explorer of the left, do you see products ? Could you do a screenshot ? There were definately products in all the categories that i have. it behaves the same on all of them. One thing i noticed is that you say that when i create the menu and then click the hikashop options to create the hikashop menu module it should then create the associated module automatically. That doesn't happen for me. When i click "hikashop options" to create the hikashop menu module it shows me a blue box stating that i have not created the associated module yet and should click here to do it automaically. When i click on it though, it just takes me to the "content modules" page and doesn't create any module. I have now deleted all menu items, associated modules and menu module and joomla modules associated with that and will start from scratch again. I will post all the images as i do it in a new post. What am i doing wrong?")* Are you using the latest version of HikaShop and Joomla ? I recall that there was some problems before with the automatic module creation process. Anyway, even if the module is not created automatically, you can still create it manually and then add it to your menu. HikaShop just simplifies the task by doing it for you... What am i doing wrong?")* Hi, I am using joomla 1.6.4 and hikashop 1.5.2. very odd thing. After I had created the hikashop menu for the catalogue, i decided to create a menu for the accessories to show you that it did have items in it and when i checked back in the hikashop modules there was now a module saying "Associated products listing for category listing menu 170 " :woohoo: . I see that the ID for the catalogue menu i created earlier is 170, so i presume this is for that. Odd that it all of a sudden appeared. It still didnt display though so i checked the joomla modules and found that it had created the joomla module for it as well, as it should be, but it is set to not show on any pages and in the wrong position. If I change the position and set it to display on my product pages, then it works and displays the products, but not in the same way as the direct menu does becasue i have to set it to a module position and that module position cannot be the main article position whereas the direct menu link display all the products automatically in the main article position automatically. Still something not right in other words, or I am doing something wrong. Besides, your help says... > Also, since this module will be displayed by HikaShop you might want to unpublish it to avoid having it displayed by Joomla somewhere else on your template. What am i doing wrong?")* Yes, you should not publish the module in joomla. Instead, you should have the module published in the "associated modules" option of your menu. That's what the documentation says and that's how it should be done in order to work properly end have the pagination. Note that for the pagination to be displayed, the random option of the module needs to be turned off. When you say > you should have the module published in the "associated modules" option of your menu , where exactly do you mean? do you mean in the Hikashop component > display > Content Modules ?? Or is there somewhere else that i should be doing it. As in the attached image, i have not set the module to random yet it still doesn't give me the pagination. I think i am just going to start from scratch; remove all products, uninstall hikashop, remove all menu and modules associated with hikashop and then try again. If you think there is a better way then please let me know as this is becoming a pain that it doesn't work as supposed to. What am i doing wrong?")* You you could just put the website online and give us an access to the back end, we would be able to directly check your settings and see what's the problem. You can publish modules as associated module of a menu by going in the menu Display->Content menus, edit your menu, click on the select button of the associated modules option of the menu, toggle on the publish radio for the module, click on OK and save the menu's options. What am i doing wrong?")* not too worry. i think i have solved my troubles. I have done extended testing and found that there is a corruption in my template somewhere. I just need to re-do my template and hopefully all will be ok again. Sorry for all the hassles. Just glad to be able to troubleshoot and find the problem eventually.
