Hi there,

I know that currently with the Standard [not the Pro] PayPal plugin, when you go from the Hikashop cart/page to PayPal if the person doesn't remember their password on PayPal and goes back to our site or does some other maneuver similar to that - when they come back to the site the Hikashop cart is EMPTIED... this creates QUITE a bit of confusion and duplicate/triplicate orders for our U.S. customers [must be something in the water here and that makes them not able to understand this ![;)](/media/kunena/emoticons/11.png ";)")]

Is there a way / a parameter that can be switched on/off etc so that when a user comes back to the site it doesn't cancel the content of the cart and their order is still there waiting for them...

This affects about 20% of our customers [and I would say roughly the same percentage on a couple of other sites that I run for US clients]

Thanks,
Cheers,

Alex.

Hi,
I haven't try this personally but there is an option in System->configuration->Checkout-> on the right side that says: Clean cart when order is: and is set to created as default, so as soon as your client move to payapal the order is consider created so the cart will be cleaned, but you can change that to confirmed, and I assume that means that the cart wont be cleaned until paypal confirms the order.

Hope this help.

Hi JW,

Thanks for that - that 'seems' logical but I'd love a confirmation from Nicolas, Eliot or etc...

Cheers,

Emmanuel.

That seems to work but I'm wondering what repercussions this might have on the rest of the system/site/shopping cart and if there are none, why it's [having status set to Confirmed] is not the default...

Cheers,

Emmanuel for Alex.

By default that option is set to "confirmed".
You must have changed it at some point.

The goal of that option is indeed to choose whether you want to user to get his cart back when he goes back on the website after canceling the payment on the payment gateway.

Hi Nicolas,

I have never changed it on any of the sites and it always installs as Clean cart when order is: 'created' on my servers FYI...

Thanks for the confirmation,

Emmanuel.

Then you must have installed old versions of HikaShop where that option didn't exist and then updated. By default the functioning of HikaShop was with the created choice selected. So when you updated, that default value was selected instead of the new default value so that the function of your website didn't change when updating.
