That characteristic had a very long list of options. I guess hikashop will only accommodate a certain number of dropdown options. Am working around by just having a text box for customer to write in their selection - a bit flaky, but it will at least work. ![:(](/media/kunena/emoticons/22.png ":(") Ok, I had this problem when I was doing my initial set up. I only resolved it by removing and reinstalling the Hikashop software. Now I have entered 6 products, all the products pages were ok. Then the 7th and 8th products - **BACK TO BLANK PAGES** on the products page. The items show up on the category page, but when the product is clicked it goes to a completely blank page. I made no config setting or other changes at all between entering the working products and those with the blank pages. The only change was adding a characteristic that had not been used on the previous 6 products. Here is the category page -top 3 products fine, bottom 2 link to blank product pages. As I said, I un- and re-installed the software, and then the product pages were normal. What is going on here? This is just too buggy. I hope when you return from your conference tomorrow that you will have some answers for me, I am way behind schedule on delivering this site for my client. And really getting a little bit too frustrated - I didn't bid enough on this job to be putting in this many hours on software problem resolution. I guess hikashop will only...")* Hi, When you use characteristics, the system creates one variant for each combination of characteristics values so that you can have different product information for each combination. Above a few hundred of combinations, most servers can't handle that much data. But it's most likely that you actually don't need that in your case. You probably just want users to be able to select information without having the price/stock/description etc change based on the selection. In that case, you should either use options or custom item dropdown fields. You won't have these processing limitation issues with them.
