You can select (and override) the product layout in different places ; In menus, in modules, in categories, in product itself. Can we have a screenshot of your french menu configuration ? You can click on the link in the zone "associated modules". The configuration that we want to check is here (in the module). I checked the configuration in the associated module and the layout type is also set to Div there. But it is still displaying using tables as far as I can see. For example you can set the **Type of Item Layout** of your French listing to "Image and Title".
